"Like a Dragon" live-action drama Kiryu actor: Playing the dragon of Dojima is quite challenging

Ryoma Takeuchi, the Japanese actor who became popular with Kamen Rider Drive, is about to play Kazuma Kiryu in Amazon's live-action drama "Like a Dragon." Facing this high-profile role, Ryoma Takeuchi admits his surprise and challenge.

"I've played a lot in the'Like Dragons' series, and I thought carefully about whether I would be suitable to play Kazuma Kiryu, because it was really a huge challenge. I knew I had to give it my all or I wouldn't be able to succeed," Takeuchi said.

Mr. Takeuchi has his own take on Mr. Kiryu's image: "I think he's a strong, strong and heroic character. But it's not enough to replicate those qualities. My task is to create a character that respects the original and creates its own interpretation."

Mr. Takeuchi believes the show will be welcomed with its unique style: "It is gangster-themed and dynamic. While it has strong depictions of violence, it also raises questions about family, parents, the meaning of love, etc. These are themes that anyone can resonate with."
